Your holiday with your dog in Schusterhäusl on Samerberg

Holiday with your dog at the beautiful Schusterhäusl in Samerberg

If you are longing for a break where not only you, but also your faithful companion, will truly get your money’s worth, then you have come to exactly the right place. A holiday with your dog in Upper Bavaria is a truly special experience. The idyllic Alpine high valley of Samerberg around my Schusterhäusl offers the perfect blend of peace, nature and mountains. Allow me to show you why our region and our historic holiday home are a true paradise for you and your four-legged friend.

It is very close to my heart that both two- and four-legged guests feel equally at home with us. When you spend a holiday with your dog at Schusterhäusl in Samerberg, you can expect not just a place to stay, but a real home away from home.

  • The feel-good factor: Our lovingly renovated Schusterhäusl radiates comfortable, Upper Bavarian cosiness. Here, your dog is simply allowed to be a dog.
  • The green setting: Our idyllic village is surrounded by lush green meadows and fields. Hardly any traffic, no stress—pure relaxation. After an active day in the mountains, you can unwind in the garden while your dog rests contentedly in the grass.

What can I do with my dog in the Alpine high valley of Samerberg?

Samerberg is a wonderful, expansive high plateau. It is made for hikes with your dog and offers the right tour for every fitness level. Your shared adventures start right on the doorstep:

  • Relaxed tours on the Samerberg Panorama Trail
This trail is my personal top tip. It offers gentle inclines, shady woodland sections for warm days, and breathtaking views over the Inn Valley. It is wonderful to watch how dogs, in harmony with nature, sniff out all the fresh new scents here.
  • Natural streams and the Samerberg Filze nature reserve
Water has a magical pull for our four-legged guests. On your hikes through the Alpine high valley of Samerberg, you will repeatedly come across small, crystal-clear mountain streams. Here, your dog can quench its thirst without concern. A walk along the edges of the Samerberg Filze also offers a wonderful atmosphere for people and animals alike.
  • Summit bliss with the Hochries cable car
Would you like to head up high, but spare your dog the steep ascent? The Hochries cable car is exceptionally dog-friendly. With leash and muzzle (for safety reasons in the cabin), you will glide comfortably towards the summit. At the top, a wonderful panoramic circular trail awaits you.

Excursion destinations in Chiemsee-Alpenland: the highlights for you and your dog

My Schusterhäusl is the ideal starting point for exploring the entire holiday region. If you would like to leave the high valley for a day trip, the Chiemsee-Alpenland offers fantastic highlights:

The “Bavarian Sea”: trips to Lake Chiemsee

A visit to Lake Chiemsee is a must during your stay! Although official bathing beaches are often not accessible to dogs, there are great alternatives:

  • Dog beach in Übersee: On the eastern shore of the lake, you will find a dedicated stretch of beach where dogs are allowed to splash and play.
  • The Chiemsee boat service: Did you know that dogs (on a leash) are very welcome on the boats? Take the crossing together to Herreninsel and stroll through the expansive palace parks.

Quiet moments at Lake Simssee

If you prefer things a little more secluded during your holiday with your dog in Upper Bavaria, I recommend the nearby Lake Simssee. Along the gentle lakeside paths, you will repeatedly find small bays that are perfect for a quick cool-down.

My requests for harmonious coexistence in the mountains

So that the holiday remains a pleasure for all guests, locals and nature, I have three small requests for you:

  • On our beautiful alpine pastures on Samerberg, cows and calves graze in summer. Please be sure to keep your dog on a short lead here and keep a sufficient distance from the herd.
  • We are very proud of our clean hiking trails. Please always carry enough dog waste bags with you and dispose of them in the bins.
  • Upper Bavarian hospitality extends to animals too! In almost all alpine huts and inns, dogs are welcome guests. A quick enquiry, however, ensures a good feeling on both sides right from the start.

I warmly invite you to spend the best time of the year with us. Pack your favourite dog bed and leave everyday life behind.

I very much look forward to welcoming you and your four-legged friend in person soon for your holiday with your dog on Samerberg!

Yours,

Claudia Pallauf
