It doesn't always have to be high up. Directly from our Schusterhäusl or within a short distance, you can reach wonderful hiking trails that require little elevation gain. They are perfect for a relaxed afternoon.

• The Samerberger Filze
  An absolute highlight for nature lovers is our raised bog, the Samerberger Filze. On well-maintained, flat paths, you hike through a mystical, tranquil moor landscape. Here you can discover unique flora and fauna, from cotton grass to rare dragonfly species. For me, it's a true place of power to take a deep breath.
• The Viewpoint Chapel (Obereck)
  A beautiful, short walk that I always recommend to my guests leads to the small viewpoint chapel at Obereck. The path there is wonderfully cozy, and the reward at the destination is magnificent: a breathtaking panoramic view that extends over the entire Rosenheim region to the Bavarian lakes. This spot is highly recommended, especially at sunset.

• Dandlbergalm: You can reach this hut via idyllic forest paths. In addition to a wonderfully cozy atmosphere, it offers a great view of the Inn Valley.

Routes for Ambitious Peak Conquerors

Those seeking a true challenge in the Chiemgau Alps should turn their attention to the higher peaks:

• The Hochries (1,569 m): Our proud local mountain! The ascent requires stamina but rewards you with one of the best 360-degree panoramas of Upper Bavaria. At the top, the Hochrieshütte of the Alpine Club awaits you with hearty meals. If you want to spare your knees, you can, of course, comfortably take the Hochriesbahn for the descent.
• Feichteck and Heuberg: For those who prefer something a bit wilder and less frequented, these neighboring mountain peaks offer exciting trails and untouched nature.

My Tips Beyond the Hiking Trails

My tip for hot days: The Samerberg Natural Pool is the perfect place to cool your tired hiking legs in chlorine-free, clear water after a long tour.

In addition, detours to our small, traditional villages, such as Törwang or Grainbach, are worthwhile. Here, Bavarian culture and customs are still deeply rooted and can be experienced authentically.
